Terms & Conditions

Important note: These are general group terms for SolCity Malta Ltd. Property-specific booking conditions are shown before confirming your reservation and may vary by property. Guests should carefully review the terms displayed on the relevant property website or booking platform before completing a booking.

These Terms and Conditions apply to the SolCity Malta Ltd group website and to the accommodation properties forming part of the SolCity Malta Ltd group.

By using this website, making an enquiry, or proceeding to book accommodation at one of our properties, guests agree to the terms set out below. Individual properties may have their own specific terms, rates, policies, check-in times, cancellation conditions and house rules. Where a booking is made through an individual property website or a third-party booking platform, the terms displayed at the time of booking shall apply.

1. About SolCity Malta Ltd

SolCity Malta Ltd operates and/or represents a group of accommodation properties in Malta, including hotels, guesthouses and short-let apartments. The group website is intended to provide general information about our properties and to direct guests to the relevant property website or booking channel.

2. Bookings

Bookings are not completed directly through the SolCity Malta Ltd group website. Guests selecting a property may be redirected to the individual property website or to an authorised booking platform.

All bookings are subject to availability and to the terms and conditions of the specific property selected. Guests are responsible for checking all booking details carefully before confirming a reservation, including property name, dates, room or apartment type, rate, occupancy, cancellation policy and payment conditions.

3. Rates and Payment

Rates may vary by property, season, room type, apartment type, occupancy, availability and booking channel. Prices shown on individual property websites or booking platforms are subject to the conditions displayed at the time of booking.

Payment conditions may differ depending on the property, rate plan and booking channel. Some bookings may require advance payment, while others may allow payment on arrival or according to the terms stated during the booking process.

SolCity Malta Ltd and its properties accept Visa and Mastercard. Additional payment methods, where available, may vary by property.

4. VAT and Environmental Contribution

Unless otherwise stated, VAT is included in the accommodation rate.

The Malta Environmental Contribution, also referred to as eco tax or eco contribution, is not included in the accommodation rate and is charged separately where applicable. This contribution is payable in accordance with Maltese law and may vary depending on legal requirements in force at the time of stay.

Guests may be required to settle the Environmental Contribution directly with the property, either before arrival, on arrival, during the stay or at check-out, depending on the property’s procedure.

5. Cancellation Policy

Cancellation policies vary according to the property, booking channel, rate type and offer selected. Guests must refer to the cancellation policy shown at the time of booking.

Non-refundable bookings, promotional rates, special offers and certain advance purchase rates may not be cancelled, amended or refunded.

Where a booking is made through a third-party platform, such as an online travel agency, any cancellation or amendment request must be made through that same platform, unless otherwise instructed by the property.

6. No-Show Policy

If a guest fails to arrive on the scheduled arrival date without cancelling in accordance with the applicable cancellation policy, the booking may be treated as a no-show.

In the case of a no-show, the full payment may be charged in accordance with the booking conditions.

7. Amendments to Bookings

Requests to amend booking dates, room types, guest names, occupancy or other booking details are subject to availability and may be subject to rate differences or additional charges.

SolCity Malta Ltd and its properties are not obliged to accept amendment requests where the original booking conditions do not allow changes.

8. Check-In and Check-Out

Check-in and check-out times vary by property. Guests should refer to the information provided by the specific property or booking channel.

Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and must be confirmed by the property. Additional charges may apply.

Guests may be required to provide valid identification and booking confirmation upon check-in.

9. Guest Identification

In accordance with applicable laws and accommodation registration requirements, guests may be required to provide valid identification documents, such as a passport, national identity card or other recognised travel document.

The property may refuse check-in where guests fail to provide the required identification or where the booking details do not match the documents provided.

10. Minimum Age Requirements

Minimum age requirements may vary depending on the property and type of accommodation. Guests must check the relevant property’s booking conditions before making a reservation.

Where age restrictions apply, the property reserves the right to refuse check-in if the requirements are not met.

11. Security Deposits and Pre-Authorisations

Security deposits, damage deposits or card pre-authorisations may be required at certain properties or for certain accommodation types, particularly apartments.

The amount, timing and method of collection may vary depending on the property and booking conditions. Deposits or pre-authorisations may be used to cover damages, missing items, excessive cleaning, breach of house rules, unpaid charges or other costs caused by the guest or members of the guest’s party.

12. Guest Behaviour

Guests are expected to behave respectfully at all times towards staff, other guests, neighbours and the property.

Noise, disturbance, abusive behaviour, illegal activity, antisocial conduct or any behaviour that affects the comfort, safety or wellbeing of others will not be tolerated.

The property reserves the right to refuse service, cancel a booking, remove guests from the premises or involve the relevant authorities where guest behaviour is considered unacceptable. No refund will be due in such circumstances.

13. Quiet Enjoyment

Guests must respect the quiet enjoyment of other guests and neighbours at all times. Loud music, excessive noise, shouting, parties or disruptive behaviour are not permitted.

This applies particularly during evening and night hours, in shared areas, corridors, balconies, terraces, apartments and guest rooms.

14. Parties, Events and Visitors

Parties, events and gatherings are not permitted in rooms, apartments or common areas unless expressly authorised in writing by the property.

Visitors who are not registered as part of the booking may be restricted or refused access, depending on the property’s policy. Guests are responsible for the behaviour of any visitors they bring onto the premises.

15. Smoking Policy

Smoking is not permitted inside rooms, apartments, indoor public areas, corridors, stairwells or any other internal areas of the properties.

Smoking is only permitted on balconies or outdoor areas where these are available and where the property allows it. Guests must use ashtrays where provided and must not throw cigarette ends, ash or any other items from balconies, windows or terraces.

A cleaning charge or damage charge may apply if smoking takes place in prohibited areas or causes damage, odour, disturbance or additional cleaning requirements.

16. Pets

Pets are not permitted at SolCity Malta Ltd properties, unless expressly stated otherwise in writing by the individual property.

Guests arriving with pets without prior written approval may be refused check-in or asked to leave the property, and cancellation charges may apply.

17. Damage, Loss and Missing Items

Guests are responsible for any damage, breakages, loss, missing items or excessive cleaning caused by themselves, members of their party or their visitors.

Charges may apply for damage to property, furniture, fixtures, fittings, linen, towels, appliances, access cards, keys, remotes or any other property items.

Lost keys, lost access cards or failure to return property items may result in a replacement charge.

18. Cleaning and Linen

Cleaning arrangements vary depending on the property and accommodation type.

For apartments, cleaning and linen change are included once per week unless otherwise stated. Additional cleaning, towel changes or linen changes may be available on request and may be subject to an additional charge.

Guests are expected to leave the accommodation in a reasonable condition. Excessive mess, misuse of facilities or additional cleaning requirements may result in extra charges.

19. Breakfast and Other Services

Breakfast availability varies by property. At some properties breakfast may be included, while at others it may be optional, charged separately or not available.

Guests should refer to the information provided by the individual property or booking channel. Services, facilities and opening times may vary by property and may be subject to operational changes.

20. Maintenance, Repairs and Service Interruptions

SolCity Malta Ltd and its properties make reasonable efforts to ensure that accommodation and facilities are properly maintained.

From time to time, maintenance issues, repairs, utility interruptions, power cuts, water interruptions, internet outages or other service disruptions may occur. Some interruptions may be outside the control of the property, including those caused by utility providers, emergency repairs, weather conditions or third parties.

Guests must report any issue to the property as soon as possible so that reasonable steps can be taken to investigate and resolve the matter. Compensation, refunds or room moves are not automatic and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the nature of the issue, the length of disruption and the actions taken by the property.

21. Property Facilities and Descriptions

SolCity Malta Ltd aims to ensure that all information displayed on its group website is accurate and up to date. However, facilities, services, décor, layouts, room sizes, views and amenities may vary between properties and room types.

Photos and descriptions are provided for general guidance only. Specific requests, including room allocation, bed preference, balcony, view or floor level, are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed unless confirmed in writing by the property.

22. Guest Belongings

Guests are responsible for their own belongings during their stay. SolCity Malta Ltd and its properties are not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings, except where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Guests are encouraged to use safes where available and to ensure that rooms, apartments, balconies, windows and doors are properly secured when unattended.

23. Health and Safety

Guests must follow all health, safety, fire and emergency instructions provided by the property. Fire exits, corridors, stairways and emergency routes must not be blocked.

Tampering with fire alarms, smoke detectors, extinguishers, emergency lighting, locks, security systems or safety equipment is strictly prohibited and may result in charges, cancellation of the stay and/or reporting to the relevant authorities.

24. Accessibility and Special Requests

Guests with accessibility needs or special requirements should contact the relevant property before booking to confirm suitability and availability.

SolCity Malta Ltd and its properties will make reasonable efforts to assist with requests, but not all properties, rooms or buildings may be suitable for all needs.

25. Third-Party Websites and Booking Platforms

The SolCity Malta Ltd group website may include links to individual property websites, booking engines or third-party booking platforms. SolCity Malta Ltd is not responsible for the content, availability, technical operation, pricing, policies or terms of third-party websites.

Where a booking is made through a third-party platform, the guest may also be bound by that platform’s own terms and conditions.

26. Data Protection and Privacy

SolCity Malta Ltd respects the privacy and personal data of its guests and website users.

Personal data may be collected and processed for purposes including booking management, guest communication, guest registration, payment processing, legal compliance, security, customer service, accounting and operational requirements.

Personal data may include, where applicable, names, contact details, booking details, payment information, identification details, nationality, arrival and departure details, and any other information reasonably required in connection with a booking or stay.

Where a booking is cancelled by the property, the guest will be informed as soon as reasonably possible and any refund due will be handled according to the applicable booking conditions and legal requirements.

29. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Malta.

Any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions or from a stay at one of the properties shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Maltese courts, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

30. Changes to These Terms

SolCity Malta Ltd reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version published on this website shall apply at the time of use, enquiry or booking, unless otherwise stated.
